What does an Encouragement Day look like?

encouragement day worship

It’s exactly what the name implies – a quiet, relaxing day during the middle of the year when the days seem long and we find we need encouragement to help us keep going! We welcome all homeschool moms in all seasons as well as those moms considering homeschooling.

The day starts with a light breakfast that you didn’t have to make. Enjoy refreshments, hot drinks, and chocolates throughout the day surrounded by beautiful decorations for all you special moms. This is your day, and we want you to enjoy it to the full!

We will glean wisdom from God’s word through speaker sessions, music that will lift our spirits and enjoy a delicious lunch while fellowshipping with other homeschool moms.

Our hope is that you leave refreshed and reinvigorated for the rest of the school year!

A few helpful reminders: The facility temperature varies throughout the day, so wearing layers is recommended. We love children, but this is a day for moms. Please make arrangements for your children; no childcare is provided. (Nursing babies are welcome.)

From our 2020 Women’s Encouragement Day:

Who is our speaker?

Hi, I’m Kristen.

I’m a woman transformed by the delight of God. I’m especially hopeful for women who feel stretched thin like me, because that tension is where we can learn to live expectant for the music and melody of love that God is singing over of each one of us. And so I write a lot about what life looks like when we are and pulled in different directions or living in seasons of waiting and in between.

I love encouraging other writers too. You can find me at The Better Mom where I serve as a contributing Editor. Or co-hosting the  At Home With Sally and Friends podcast with one of my mentors and dearest friends, Sally Clarkson. My book Finding Selah shows you how to tune your ear to the song God is singing over you, embrace the “selah moments” able to transform your daily rhythms, and most of all, encounter the ultimate Selah in Christ, who stands in the gap between heaven and your most hectic of days.

Most days my life is pretty ordinary. If you stopped by you’d likely find me attempting to cook up something new, putting off the cleaning to decorate instead, and homeschooling four of my hilarious children while texting with my girl at college all day long. I love coffee and gingerbread and staying up late with my nose in a mystery. I believe there is something sacred in lighting candles and inviting others to sit at my table.

After spending the seven years in the hustle of New York City, my husband, Josh, and I are learning to go slow as we raise our family and walk our anxious hound dog in the Pacific Northwest.
